Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

President

Ahmadinejad is the sixth sitting president of the Islam Republic of Iran. Elected by popular vote, Ahmadinejad has been modern day Persia's President since August 6, 2005.

While president, Mahmoud has become a global figure, perhaps more for his outrageous statements regarding the Holocaust and Israel than for admirable leadership. Mr. Ahmadinejad denounced the Holocaust as an event that required further scientific study to prove real or a staged lie. As you can imagine, that statement enraged most of the world that fought against the Nazis in World War II, and it angered the Germans as well. For a cunning leader and strategist, which we here at SLI believe him to be, with those statements Mr. Ahmadinejad displayed astounding naivete' perhaps more readily found on the impoverished streets of Tehran, rather than within its universities.

However we may disagree with his views, Ahmadinejad has achieved much in his life. He certainly serves as a role model within his country to those born of less than privileged status. His demeanor and, dare we say charisma, leave the world with much to be concerned. While Iran's political structure does not lift Ahmadinejad to the highest position in his country, his citizens have already proven in history that they decide their country's fate, and its leadership.
